In His Time
1.20.2011
I listen to the radio. A lot. What else is there to do in a house with 3 little people under 5, besides watch reruns of the same kid shows you watched yesterday. And I'm not one to put on a 'nasty' station, at least when the kids are present. Let me tell you, 4 year olds remember stuff...a lot of stuff, and not always at the most timely moment you want them to. So here, it's always on the Christian radio station.
And I love it! I love how the kids know the words to the songs and every song is their favorite song. And I always hear listeners talk on-air about how the right songs are always playing at the right time, just right for them. Well, I never heard the right songs for me?! I mean I love every single message that is portrayed in any Christian song and I love them all...I actually do. But, I never felt like that person that heard what they needed to hear from God at just the right time. But in His time it happened today. On my way home from a last minute husband-going-on-a-fishing-trip grocery run and what else, but Mickey-D's for the girls' supper. He totally hit me and every song on my drive home was just for me. First is my New Year's Resolution song...the one that hits home and is going to help me stick to it this year, You Are More by Tenth Avenue North
...and then our wedding song (only we had the Rascal Flatts version), Bless The Broken Road by Selah
Then a new one, I hadn't heard before, shot right to me like it was written for MY LIFE. Thank you God for writing this and bringing this to me...I LOVE IT!! ...and thank you Francesca Battistelli for singing it beautifully!

There's a girl in the corner
With tear stains on her eyes
From the places she's wandered
And the shame she can't hide
She says, "How did I get here?
I'm not who I once was.
And I'm crippled by the fear
That I've fallen too far to love"
But don't you know who you are,
What's been done for you?
Yeah don't you know who you are?
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
Well she tries to believe it
That she's been given new life
But she can't shake the feeling
That it's not true tonight
She knows all the answers
And she's rehearsed all the lines
And so she'll try to do better
But then she's too weak to try
But don't you know who you are?
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
'Cause this is not about what you've done,
But what's been done for you.
This is not about where you've been,
But where your brokenness brings you to
This is not about what you feel,
But what He felt to forgive you,
And what He felt to make you loved.
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
You've been remade
You've been remade.
You've been remade.
You've been remade.
You've been remade.
...and then our wedding song (only we had the Rascal Flatts version), Bless The Broken Road by Selah
I set out on a narrow way, many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Yes He did
I think about the years I spent, just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost, and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there, you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
But now I'm just rolling home into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Then a new one, I hadn't heard before, shot right to me like it was written for MY LIFE. Thank you God for writing this and bringing this to me...I LOVE IT!! ...and thank you Francesca Battistelli for singing it beautifully!

Sweet Nella
1.17.2011
I have been following Kelle's blog for almost a year now, right after sweet Nella was born. And Nella was born with a magical extra chromosome, along with the other 400,000 Americans living with Downs Syndrome. And it hit my heart like a rocket. I have to help. The first words that mumble out of my mouth, I just have to help.
So the Hampton's are hosting their very first fundraiser to raise awareness to Downs Syndrome with Nella's ONEder Fund in honor of her FIRST birthday this Saturday!!
And...I just have to help. So, all (and I mean ALL) orders from now thru Midnight on Friday, January 21st I will be donating 47% off ALL sales to Nella's ONEder Fund from bekima knits. I can't wait to see how we can help out not only sweet Nella's family but ALL families affected by Downs Syndrome.
*Why 47% Tanya?? Oh, because I just roll like that...and read Kelle's words below if you're not familiar with Downs Syndrome...
A First Birthday Fundraiser for Nella's Rockstars
One year ago, on January 22, 2010, we welcomed our second daughter, Nella Cordelia Hampton. The thrill of her slippery little body being placed in our arms was quickly jolted when we were told she came with a little something extra...a 47th chromosome. And like many others who set out on this journey, we struggled through a range of emotions the following weeks. Support came though--through loving friends and family, through education, through falling in love with our daughter who turned out to be the greatest blessing and just what our family needed.
We are learning more every day, and, through Nella, we've discovered a new world of acceptance and opportunity for the many individuals in our world with Down syndrome.
To celebrate the anniversary of the beginning of this beautiful journey and our enchanting little one, we are asking you to join with us in supporting the NDSS. Please help spread awareness and create more opportunities for the world to understand that we are more alike than different.
The National Down Syndrome Society works to create a culture that fully accepts and includes the 400,000 Americans with Down syndrome. Your tax-deductible donation will help support the vision of a world in which all people with Down syndrome have the opportunity to enhance their quality of life and realize their life aspirations.
Rock it out Nella's Rockstars!!

New Year - New Projects
1.03.2011
I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Years and didn't go too (oops) overboard on the eve of the new year! Not that I know from experience, but a bottle and a half of wine gives a major headache the next morning, and all day for that matter.
Here's just some of the new pics I have to share from some new projects that I have going on...more to come!
It's been just a bit busy around here and some days I have to move new TOYS before I can even enter the family room. Yea, 3 girls under 5 and their gifts, after Christmas, is a sight to see...
Wishing all of my readers a very blessed and bountiful 2011!!!!
Check it out this week for my new resolution list...
